With a growing population and widespread drought the Hinze Dam Stage 3 project was identified to increase storage capacity and delay the release of floodwaters onto the floodplains. The dam wall will be raised from 93.5 metres to approximately 108.5 metres. The Hinze Dam Alliance is responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the project. As an alliance partner AECOM undertook a range of field investigations and studies as part of the detailed design. Key design features included geotechnical investigation, embankment design, intake towers and spillway.
