This prestigious mixed-use retail and commercial development has been designed by the worldrenowned architect Daniel Libeskind, who designed the two buildings with vegetated cuts in the fa\u00e7ade and a pathway to and from the Hofgarten, the central park in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n<p>The K\u00f6-Bogen project is a major milestone in the overall redevelopment of D\u00fcsseldorf\u2019s inner city and creates a highly visible link between two of the busiest shopping streets and the Hofgarten. The complexities of this site add to the significance of the project: its location in the city centre means that construction will require the relocation of roads and transit infrastructure, including rebuilding one road through a tunnel under the buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The K\u00f6-Bogen planning and design process is based on strong sustainable principles and URS Germany &amp; Benelux is assisting the client to implement these through our LEED certification services, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustainability as an integrative principle for all design disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Construction on a previously developed site with excellent connection to all city functions and public transportation<\/li>\n<li>Energy efficient cooling and heating systems<\/li>\n<li>Reduction of potable water usage\n<ul>\n<li>Consideration of occupancy health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Vegetated areas with native \/ adaptive plants<\/li>\n<li>Improved conditions for potential certification(s) of tenant spaces under \u201cLEED for Commercial Interiors\u201d for the future retail and office tenants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The K\u00f6-Bogen was registered as a LEED-CS Campus project.
