The 2.5-mile line will connect to Seattle\u2019s King Street Rail station, and provide connections to Sound Transit\u2019s light rail station on Capitol Hill. AECOM served as the prime planning and design firm. Construction now is underway with service planned in 2014. This project is being completed for the Seattle Department of Transportation and is funded by Sound Transit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">One of the key considerations in design is providing bicycle and pedestrian facilities of the best quality. For the mile-long segment along the East Broadway corridor, the project will introduce a two-way European-style cycle-track on the east side of the existing street.
