Exposing below the surface
Two visiting students view a special exhibition called “Exposed – The Secret Lives of Roots” (below ground) at the United States Botanic Garden in Washington DC. The exhibit features the work of Dr Jerry Glover and National Geographic photographer, Jim Richardson in showing root structure of grasses found along the plains of Kansas.
AECOM was brought on-board to complete electrical engineering for this exhibit. AECOM has extensive experience working on landscape architecture and building engineering at the National Botanic Garden in renovating the conservatory and outside grounds and gardens.
This exposure was taken at 1/8th of a second, at f 8.0 at ISO 100 on a Canon 1Dx camera with 17mm tilt-shift lens on a tripod.
