As an extension of the country\u2019s central business district, the new Marina Bay\/Greater Southern Waterfront area has been earmarked as a vibrant live-work-play district that will spur development and raise the international profile of Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Our multi-disciplinary team partnered with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore to provide a sustainable development framework and plan for Marina Bay and the adjacent Greater Southern Waterfront.<\/p>\n<p>Features of the\u00a0 long-term conceptual study include the addition of unique waterfront districts, incorporating a network of walkable public space, a new reservoir for rainwater harvesting, a continuous 30-kilometer waterfront pathway for walking and cycling, and an ecological corridor for people and wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>We used our propriety Sustainable Systems Integration Model\u2122 (<a href=\"https:\/\/aecom.com\/News\/Innovation\/_projectsList\/Sustainable+Systems+Integration+Model+(Worldwide)\" target=\"_blank\">SSIM\u2122)<\/a> model to assemble and assess various development scenarios, so as to find the most optimal scheme for the project in terms of sustainability and cost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch this <a href=\"https:\/\/aecom.com\/Where%20We%20Are\/Asia\/Countries\/SEA\/Singapore\/Marina%20Bay%20and%20Greater%20Southern%20Waterfront%20Sustainability%20Study\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a><\/strong> to learn more about this project to contribute to Singapore\u2019s growth\u00a0 as a major financial hub for Asia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aecom.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Scott-Dunn_AECOM2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-968\" src=\"https:\/\/aecom.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Scott-Dunn_AECOM2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Scott Dunn_AECOM\" width=\"89\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><em>Scott Dunn (scott.dunn@aecom.com) leads AECOM&#8217;s operations in Malaysia.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In land-scarce Singapore, making full use of every inch of ground to spur continuous while sustainable growth ranks high on the nation\u2019s agenda.
