AECOM has been awarded two task orders with an aggregate value of approximately US$47.3 million for runway construction projects at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash., and Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

The task orders were awarded under AECOM’s Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency to provide worldwide design-build and construction services. The contract, which was awarded during 2008 to multiple companies, has a contract ceiling of US$4 billion with a basic ordering period of 60 months plus five one-year options.

The runway reconstruction projects, slated for completion in 2011, involve reconstruction of the runway and taxiway pavements, in addition to replacement of the airfield lighting and approach system at Fairchild Air Force Base as well as milling and repaving the asphalt concrete at Scott Air Force Base. Fairchild Air Force Base is home to the Air Mobility Command’s 92nd Air Refueling Wing, and Scott Air Force Base is headquarters for the Air Mobility Command.
