TORONTO <\/strong>(January 11, 2024) – AECOM, the world\u2019s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, announced today that Aleksandar (Sasha) \u017divkovi\u0107 has been named its Mining Market Sector Lead for its Canadian Water business. Based out of AECOM’s Mississauga office, Mr. \u017divkovi\u0107 will be responsible for developing and executing the region\u2019s vision for the Mining practice, which includes driving a client-centric approach to the business by prioritizing clients\u2019 needs, providing tailored solutions, and maintaining strong relationships through service excellence, reliability and responsiveness. His vision for the Canadian mining practice includes fostering a culture of sustainability, where responsible resource extraction practices and environmental stewardship are central pillars of the business strategy. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With 38 years of expertise in geological and geotechnical engineering, notably in tailings storage facilities and mining projects, Sasha brings an invaluable depth of technical expertise to this role, and we are thrilled to welcome him to AECOM,\u201d said Ian Dyck, Water business line leader for AECOM\u2019s Canada region. \u201cHis appointment will further build out our Canadian mining practice into a multi-disciplinary group with end-to-end lifecycle services support for our clients.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. \u017divkovi\u0107\u2019s career spans design and construction projects where he first specialized in site selection, engineering geology, and rock engineering for hydropower projects, as well as urban-municipal and heavy construction geo-environmental engineering. His subsequent project portfolio includes site investigations, design, construction, operation, and closure of various mining projects across Canada and the world. This diverse experience brings a holistic perspective to the mining practice, incorporating insights and best practices from other industries, ultimately facilitating well-rounded solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
