As part of the master services agreement with the City of Montr\u00e9al for the Jean\u2011Talon Street corridor, we were engaged to carry out a series of planning, design, and implementation support mandates aimed at the development and redevelopment of the Jean\u2011Talon West sector and its surroundings. This agreement forms part of a large-scale urban project in which the Jean\u2011Talon axis represents far more than a simple transportation corridor, functioning instead as a network of public spaces that structure living environments and economic activity at the metropolitan scale. The selected approach seeks to integrate mobility, urban design, landscape, and infrastructure components to support the gradual transformation of this strategic corridor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jean\u2011Talon corridor is distinguished by its significant size and the diversity of contexts it traverses. Extending over several kilometres across the Island of Montr\u00e9al and connecting various urban hubs, it is a major commercial artery undergoing substantial transformation. Key drivers include the extension of the Blue line of the m\u00e9tro, the implementation of the Jean\u2011Talon REV (express bike network), the Cavendish connection project, the extension of Jean\u2011Talon Street, and the planning of new development areas such as the Namur\u2013Hippodrome eco-district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mandates we were awarded include needs and solutions analyses, the development of public realm design concepts, noise and vibration impact assessments, the planning of macro- and micro-mobility scenarios, and the coordination of complex projects involving multiple institutional and technical partners. Our team takes an integrated approach to challenges related to active and public transportation, public space reconfiguration, greening, safety, and universal accessibility, while also addressing the commercial, residential, and industrial realities specific to the area. The approach relies on close coordination with municipal departments, transit agencies, public partners, and local stakeholders to provide coherent and phased implementation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With its cross-cutting and evolving scope, the master services agreement provides continuity of expertise and consistency of interventions across the entire corridor. It serves as a structure to align mobility, public realm, and urban development initiatives.
