In the 2,000-year-old city of Guangzhou \u2013 known as the Flower City \u2013 designers from Ellerbe Becket, an AECOM Company, created a bowl structure for Guangdong Olympic Stadium that appears to grow upward to an edge sculpted like flower petals.\u00a0A roof flows ribbon-like over seats, parting to hold the Olympic flame at one end.<\/p>\n
The stadium is home to China’s National Games, as well as international track and field events, soccer matches, performances and exhibitions.
