AECOM appoints three new leaders to drive growth and client service excellence in New South Wales and Canberra

SYDNEY (May 1, 2019) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, today announced three new senior business leaders appointed to drive the future growth of the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory (NAC) region.

The firm has promoted Lauren Allen and Jason Morris to group director roles, leading civil infrastructure and construction services respectively. They are joined by Justine Kinch who returns to the firm to lead the NAC Buildings + Places team. The leaders will all be responsible for teams, client service and market engagement across the NAC region, which encompasses offices in Hunter, Western Sydney, Canberra and Sydney.

“Jason has forged a successful career in large complex project delivery initially in the UK and he spent the past decade as a senior leader in AECOM’s Construction Services business in the Middle East,” said Kerry van Donderen, NAC regional managing director. “Lauren began her AECOM career nearly 20 years ago as an environmental scientist and more recently in senior operational roles. In that time, she has overseen the integration of URS, led our corporate responsibility, quality and technical excellence programs. Rejoining AECOM and stepping onto the NAC leadership team is Justine Kinch who previously helped to launch AECOM’s Western Sydney growth strategy and before that led the Sydney design and planning team.”

“It’s really an honor to be able to promote great leaders from within to take on our most senior roles. The diverse perspectives and skill sets that our new leaders bring will help drive the future growth of our people and client relationships,” concluded Ms. van Donderen.

Reflecting on her new civil infrastructure group director role, Ms. Allen, group director, Civil Infrastructure said, “We are really optimistic about the project pipeline in New South Wales and the growth potential it offers. I believe that the best way to build stimulating and challenging careers for our people is to deliver great projects for our clients. We are also increasing the use of our global technical resources to meet the complex needs of our local clients.”

Having previously led AECOM’s design and planning team for a number of years before launching the firm’s Western Sydney strategy, Ms. Kinch is looking forward to a new leadership challenge, “AECOM’s deep understanding of the built environment combined with our innovative transport infrastructure design capability is a genuine differentiator in the marketplace,” said Ms. Kinch, group director, Buildings + Places. “It is something that our public and private sector clients are searching for as they develop the sustainable communities that Sydney’s population growth demands.”

Helping the state and federal governments to deliver on the significant pipeline of projects requires a highly disciplined and experienced approach to complex project management. With his background in large infrastructure projects in the Middle East, Mr. Morris is strategically placed to support the firm’s large public sector clients such as Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and Department of Defence.

”What has always been gratifying about being part of AECOM is the opportunity to bring so many of our talented people together to deliver state-of-the-art solutions to the challenges that are being faced by our clients,” said Mr. Morris, group director, Construction Services. “I’m excited to be continuing to leverage our global expertise to deliver excellent outcomes for our Australian clients.”
