AECOM applied award-winning environmental planning and management expertise to reduce adverse environmental and social impacts of the Bolivia-Brazil Natural Gas Pipeline. The 3,056-kilometer pipeline is one of the continent’s largest and most economically significant infrastructure and development projects in decades. AECOM’s support continues to keep the project in compliance with the World Bank\/IFC social and environmental safeguards, and includes a broad and highly successful public disclosure program.<\/p>\n
Extensive cultural resources management studies performed by\u00a0AECOM yielded an important archaeological discovery of previously unknown pre-Hispanic occupation of the dry lowland forest of Bolivia. The results of the study were published in an original, hardbound book in Spanish and English, and also were the focus of a major museum exhibition in Bolivia. The book was distributed in Bolivia and worldwide, including all communities located in the pipeline\u2019s area of influence.<\/p>\n
AECOM\u00a0is a world leader in providing social and environmental management services to multinational oil and gas pipeline projects, with other recent efforts including the BP Caspian Ltd.\u2019s BTC Pipeline, Exxon-Mobil\u2019s Chad Export Project, and Shell International\u2019s Camisea Project.
