AECOM announced today that it recently published its third report highlighting the company’s 2013 sustainability work across Greater China as well as South and Southeast Asia.
As an extension of AECOM’s global sustainability report, the piece focuses on the company’s operational improvements, employee engagement efforts, thought leadership initiatives, as well as the wider role the company plays in the communities it serves in Asia.
Report highlights include the following:
- Compared to fiscal year 2012, AECOM’s Asia offices reduced water consumption by 36 percent, the amount of paper purchased by more than 15 percent and electricity consumption by 3.8 percent.
- AECOM won several awards from Climate Change Business Journal and Environmental Business Journal.
- 94 percent of team members in Asia that were surveyed believe that sustainability is a differentiator for AECOM.
- 93 percent of Asia employees surveyed think that embedding sustainability considerations into client advice is key to the future success of the company.
The report also features some of the many innovative sustainability projects in Asia such as the Ciliwung Care Movement project in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the Travel Smart Initiative in Singapore.
“The results presented in the 2013 Asia Sustainability Report reflect AECOM’s commitment to sustainability, and demonstrate that we are capable of delivering sustainability excellence in our projects,” said Dr. Thomas Tang, corporate sustainability director, Asia. “I am proud to work for this organization and give credit to my colleagues who, through their passion and professional dedication, have contributed to the meaningful work outlined in the report.”
