AECOM has won an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, worth up to US$30 million, from the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) to provide utilities design and engineering services for projects located at U.S. Marine Corps installations in North Carolina.

Potential work sites include Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station New River and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

The range of design and engineering services AECOM may provide under the contract include upgrading sanitary collection and treatment systems; potable water supply, treatment and distribution systems; electrical substation and distribution systems; steam distribution and condensate return systems; telecommunication systems; natural gas distribution, stormwater collection and conveyance systems; design of new and resurfacing of existing airfields, roads and parking lots; performance of property and topographic surveys; geotechnical investigations; and facility site work.

Under the first task order, AECOM will provide a Functional Analysis Concept Development for three military construction projects that will upgrade utility systems for three cantonment areas at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. This study is the first step in the design/bid/build delivery of approximately US$150 million of infrastructure improvements at the installation. AECOM will also perform the design of these utility improvement projects.

The period of performance on the basic contract is one year plus four option years. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year, and work is slated for completion during March 2015.
