{"id":10379,"date":"2014-06-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1970-01-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aecom.com\/taiwan\/press\/contract-expected-to-be-worth-approximately-us23-million-to-aecom\/"},"modified":"2017-10-19T06:03:54","modified_gmt":"2017-10-19T10:03:54","slug":"contract-expected-to-be-worth-approximately-us23-million-to-aecom","status":"publish","type":"press-release","link":"https:\/\/aecom.com\/tw\/press-releases\/contract-expected-to-be-worth-approximately-us23-million-to-aecom\/","title":{"rendered":"AECOM design partnership awarded contract for Region of Waterloo light rail transit project in Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Contract expected to be worth approximately US$23 million to AECOM.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>AECOM announced today that GrandLinq, a public-private partnership (PPP) in which it participates, has been awarded a contract by the Region of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The GrandLinq PPP will design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new at-grade light rail transit (LRT) system between the cities of Waterloo and Kitchener. \u00a0The contract is expected to be worth approximately US$23 million to AECOM.<\/p>\n<p>As the PPP\u2019s design lead, AECOM is responsible for the project\u2019s detailed design, including track, civil, utilities, architecture, structural, landscape, systems and environmental services. \u00a0Known as ION, the LRT system consists of 11 miles of track, 19 stops, 13 traction power stations and a new operations and maintenance facility to house and service the ION vehicle fleet. \u00a0A focal point of the project will be the construction of a major grade separation for a future intermodal transit facility.\u00a0 Other notable scope elements include two new rail structures and public infrastructure works.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud that AECOM will help advance the region\u2019s transit system by providing integrated design management, as well as environmental and community-outreach services,\u201d said Michael S.
