Runway 10R-28L \u2014 part of FLL\u2019s Airport Expansion Program for which AECOM is program manager \u2014 is a new, 8,000-foot-long commercial air carrier runway that replaces the previous general aviation Runway 9R-27L. AECOM served as the comprehensive program management team leader for the runway, providing services that included programming, validation, scheduling, budgeting and cost control, design definition, design management and construction oversight. <\/p>\n

The US$1.3-billion Airport Expansion Program, which began in January 2009, is an extensive capital-development plan aimed at improving FLL\u2019s runway and international arrivals terminal\u2019s capacity in order to enhance conditions in the crowded South Florida airspace.
