AECOM recently won First Prize in the Urban Design category at the 14th Annual Shenzhen Planning and Design Awards for its contribution to the development of Shenzhen\u2019s Longgang District. Working in collaboration with the China Academy of Urban Planning & Design, a team of designers from the Shenzhen and Hong Kong offices adopted an innovative macro-planning approach for the development framework of the 844-square-kilometer district. Actionable urban design guidelines were also developed for this project, which in turn will be used to instruct the city\u2019s statutory planning procedures. <\/p>\n

Project scope covered a variety of study areas, including the public realm, ecological environment, urban townscape, architecture space, public transportation as well as other considerations.<\/p>\n
