{"id":18646,"date":"2016-06-21T23:43:24","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T23:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aecom.com\/taiwan\/?post_type=press-release&#038;p=18646"},"modified":"2017-10-19T07:08:41","modified_gmt":"2017-10-19T11:08:41","slug":"aecom-manage-building-medical-hub-macau","status":"publish","type":"press-release","link":"https:\/\/aecom.com\/tw\/press-releases\/aecom-manage-building-medical-hub-macau\/","title":{"rendered":"AECOM to manage the building of medical hub in Macau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hong Kong (June 21, 2016) \u2014 AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that it has been awarded a significant project management consultancy contract for a medical hub in Macau. \u00a0This is the fourth hospital project win for the company in three years\u2019 time, establishing AECOM\u2019s leadership in this niche market.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-41316 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/aecom.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/123\/2016\/06\/macau-1024x585.jpg\" alt=\"macau\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The medical hub project is one of the biggest consultancy assignments handed down by the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR). It is a cluster of buildings including a hospital with over 1,000 beds, a laboratory building, a rehabilitation building, a nursing school, an ancillary facilities building , staff accommodation building and an administration building. The associated infrastructure works are also within the scope of the project. The total construction floor area (CFA) is about 400,000 square metres.<\/p>\n<p>AECOM will be involved in various stages of the project starting with tender preparation. AECOM will also be responsible for construction supervision and will have a resident site team embracing local inputs. Another mission of this assignment is to provide training to local staff on large scale project and construction management with emphasis on health care related buildings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very challenging project, and we are excited to utilize our knowledge of the construction of health care related buildings as well as the operation flow of hospitals,\u201d said Albert Li, managing director, construction services, Hong Kong\/Macau\/South China. \u201cBuilding off the valuable experience we have gained through our other hospital projects in the region, our team understands the clinical requirements and the hospital operation flow involving patients, paramedics, nurses, doctors and visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the last three years, AECOM has won project management projects for the expansion of the United Christian Hospital, the redevelopment of Kwong Wah Hospital and the pre-construction construction management services for a private hospital in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>AECOM went through a process of screening, bidding and interviews before being awarded the project, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in health care planning, architecture and engineering to cost management.
