AECOM Hunt served as construction manager for the Texas State University – San Marcos, Performing Arts Center Complex. The 69,122-square-foot facility features two professional quality performance venues, a grand public lobby, instructional space, acting classroom, dance studios, dressing rooms, wardrobe and laundry facilities, design and production spaces, including scene and paint shop, welding spaces, and sewing rooms. In addition, the complex includes a loading dock, 455-car parking garage with ground floor retail space, and 3,000 ton chill plant.
The new 43,700-square-foot performance hall features two venues, a 397-seat proscenium theater and a 312-seat music recital hall. The facility also features an 80’ high fly tower, and an operable orchestra pit.
New state-of-the-art lighting technology was used throughout the building including LED and automated fixtures, making the theatrical lighting capabilities of Texas State University competitive with many other nationally recognized preforming arts institutions.
