The project site is located on the Ashlu Creek, 30 kilometers northwest of Squamish Bay, a town situated half-way between Whistler and Vancouver at the head of Howe Sound Bay, on the West coast of British Columbia. The project consists of a run-of-river type that uses a short stretch of steep rapids to generate a nameplate capacity of 49.9 MW over a head of 224 meters and a design flow of 29 cubic meters per second.
AECOM provided the following services: detailed engineering, reviewing the proposed design, optimizing the structures, preparing the construction drawings and technical and quality control assistance.
