The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is located on almost nine acres on two blocks in the heart of downtown Orlando. This project was constructed as a public-private partnership between the Dr. Phillips Center, the City of Orlando, and Orange County. This project was one of the three-venues comprising the Orlando Community Venues Program.
The 330,000 square-foot building includes performance venues, a banquet hall and a School of Arts. There are two theaters, a 2,700-seat amplified hall for Broadway-style performances, and a 300-seat multi-function community theater, along with a large outdoor arts plaza. Serving as the City’s Owner’s Representative, AECOM provided owner’s representative services on all three Venues projects, including the Dr. Phillips Center.
Services included: design reviews, quality assurance/quality control process monitoring, review of progress schedules, monitoring of minority/women business enterprise participation compliance, contract change and budget management support, LEED certification assistance, oversight of related infrastructure improvement projects, and project close-out services.
