AECOM is providing architecture, interior design, structural engineering and cost estimating services for the expansion and renovation of Bill Snyder Family Stadium at Kansas State University. This project, the West Stadium Center, represents the centerpiece of an overall master plan for improvements to the stadium, designed with the goal of providing the best experience in the Big 12 for student-athletes and fans alike.
The $75 million project includes the complete replacement of all facilities on the west side of the field to include new media and broadcast facilities; new suite, club and loge seating; new concourses and concessions; improvements to the seating bowl and the addition of a K-State Athletics Hall of Honor. A new dining hall will cater to student athletes, and a new Tailgate Terrace will enhance the overall fan experience.
The stadium’s grand limestone exterior, drawing inspiration from the existing campus vernacular, will become the northwest gateway to campus and will provide a signature image for K-State Athletics and the university at large. With construction slated for completion in 2013, the entire project is to be completed with minimal disruption to game-day operations during the 2012 football and basketball seasons.
