AECOM provided general planning services for expansion and revitalisation of the Krohnstieg Center in Hamburg-Langenhorn. The shopping center is owned by German Retail Fund and operated by Cordea Savills GmbH. Based on tenants‘ demands, the project included the following scope of services:
- to convert idle area in the basement into 2,000m2 of leasable space including a connection to the mall
- to provide new and easy access from the ground floor to the basement of the shopping mall
- to relocate shops from the ground floor to the basement
- to convert idle area on the ground floor into 600m2 of leasable space
- to convert a 400m² rental unit into four different shops
- replacement of the entire floor covering in the shopping mall
- replacement of the entrance door system with a sliding door system
Construction of this property started in January 2011 and, at the end of May 2011, the basement was ready for utilisation. All shops were operational during the ongoing construction, as requested by the client. AECOM was acting as the design and build contractor in order to comply with the client’s demand to deliver a turnkey solution.
