AECOM designed a $13.5 million, 73,000-square-foot office building in Deer Park, Texas, for Lubrizol—a global, specialty chemical company. The new building will house the administrative and engineering functions within the campus of a Lubrizol chemical facility.
AECOM developed a full programming and space planning document with alternatives and worked closely with Lubrizol to develop the layout configurations and building components. As part of AECOM’s tasks, we provided Lubrizol with site configuration alternatives, facility conditions and reuse assessments for the current facilities. A valuable tool was the cost to repair the facilities and the code analysis that stated the deficiencies.
The key elements of the project included an engineering investigation, feasibility assessment, and architectural design of the three-story structure, including associated peripheral site work and project construction estimates.
AECOM provided design services for roadways, a storm sewer system and retention pond, facility layout, blast protection, and sustainable practices. One of the building’s unique features is the under-floor heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system that allows individual air volume control.
