SAN DIEGO (November 20, 2024) — AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, announced today that it has been awarded a single-award, three-year environmental on-call contract by the California Department of Transportation, District 11 (Caltrans D11). Under this contract, AECOM will provide comprehensive environmental support services across a range of infrastructure projects for Caltrans D11, which covers San Diego and Imperial Counties. The contract aims to address the district’s growing transportation needs while prioritizing environmental sustainability and equity for the community.

“We are excited to draw on our Sustainable Legacies strategy to help Caltrans D11 deliver critical transportation improvements that enhance and protect the region’s environmental resources,” said Frank Sweet, chief executive of AECOM’s global Environment business. “Our teams are already fully integrated with Caltrans’ high-priority work and have the global environmental expertise and local relationships to continue to bring projects to successful completion.”

AECOM’s scope of work for this contract includes support for environmental planning, permitting, field work, data analysis and report writing. Work will span various projects throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties, including projects such as the Middle Mile Broadband Network, Coronado Bridge seismic retrofit, and State Route 67 improvements.

“Thanks to nearly two decades of collaboration with Caltrans D11, our experts have a deep understanding of our client’s needs as well as the region’s infrastructure and environmental challenges,” said Matt Crane, chief executive of AECOM’s U.S. West region. “We look forward to extending this client relationship as we continue to make positive contributions to sustainability, equity and connectivity across San Diego and Imperial Counties.”
