AECOM Hunt served as construction manager for the University of California, San Francisco Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building, located on the 57.5 acre campus of UCSF Mission Bay and is one of the largest biomedical research and education campuses in the nation.
The Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building is a 161,757-square-foot, five-story laboratory research facility featuring wet laboratories, ancillary space for clinical research programs, lecture room, offices, 20,000 square feet of vivarium and an MRI imaging suite.
The new facility allows all of the scientists within the UCSF Brain Tumor Research Center to work together in one space. The building also provides space for translational research, which applies basic scientific ideas, insights and discoveries to the treatment and prevention of human disease. The research facility accommodates up to 400 scientists and contains 33 laboratories and ancillary spaces for clinical research.
