AECOM held the City Salon @ Shanghai and officially launched the “City Resilience” Microsite

AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today held its City Salon @ Shanghai event at its PRC headquarters, and officially launched the Chinese version of its “City Resilience” microsite, which will provide new ideas and insights on building resilient cities across the country.
At the event, Stone Shen, AECOM China’s City Resilience Market Sector Leader, shared the innovative resilience framework integrating three dimensions: economy, society, and environment. HungChih Liu, AECOM Asia’s Senior Vice President, noted the importance of intelligent infrastructure to building city resilience. Dasha Ecological Corridor, Shenzhen, named one of the nine ULI Global Awards for Excellence recipients

After being recognized at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence in 2020, the Dasha Ecological Corridor project has yet again earned the prestigious honor of receiving the ULI Global Awards for Excellence 2021. Only nine outstanding developments were selected as winners this year. Inspired by the heritage, culture and urban characteristics of Shenzhen, AECOM’s plan for Dasha River created a high-quality public landscape space to enhance the city’s ecological environment and rejuvenated Shenzhen with vibes and different layers of dynamics. Xintiandi Style I won Urban Regeneration of the Year at 2021 RICS Awards China

For the South Xintiandi Mall landscape project, AECOM sought to create a social destination that integrates a multi-sensory experience with immersive art. By connecting people and nature, creating flexible venues, and transforming negative spaces, the team upgraded the environment and how we experience it. It also provided an opportunity to further increase the proximity of the neighborhood, optimize the urban space, and enhance the city image.

The renovation of Phoenix State Guesthouse

The AECOM design team started work on the Phoenix State Guesthouse renovation in Taizhou in 2016. The focus was on the hotel’s spatial reconstruction, functional additions and the overall landscape design. The functional additions include 70 guest rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness center, conference rooms and reception halls, additional parking space, kitchen and mechanical space, as well as a stand-alone banquet hall. With the renovation completed, this prestigious state guesthouse officially re-opened in 2020. Click here to learn more.

AECOM was fully involved in the development of Lingang Shanghai Free-Trade Zone

With a height of nearly 360 meters, the Shenzhen Galaxy Twin Tower will become the tallest twin tower once completed. This new landmark is located in Bantian, Longgang, Shenzhen. AECOM has been involved in the project for the past five years, visiting the site multiple times to ensure the perfect turnout of the intricate design. Read more about the project here.

AECOM publishes its latest Asia Pacific Theme Park Pipeline Update

Among the 2019 Top 10 Theme Park Groups Worldwide, the three leading groups in China have shown the smallest decline in attendance in 2020. Since the pandemic, the industry has invested tremendous efforts in three aspects: operation adjustment, marketing strategies, and technological innovation this year to increase the attendance. After the normalization of coronavirus prevention and control, some measures have also been incorporated into the daily operations of theme park operations, bringing a positive impact on the progress of the industry. Technology drives building sustainability

Wang Hao, MEP Director, spoke at the China Building Science Conference and Green Smart Building Expo on the topic of “Digital Building Design.” He noted that by using digital approaches to effectively simulate and monitor energy consumption of building, AECOM is able to build greener and smarter buildings, thereby helping reduce carbon emissions.
