Becoming Ningbo city’s new iconic public open space and an innovative ecological landscape design in China, this park has won the Outstanding Award in the Parks and Open Space Category in 2017 IFLA ASIA-PAC Landscape Architecture Awards.

On a site previously characterized by chaotic water channels, abandoned docks and infill agriculture, AECOM landscape architects created a park that restores waterfront connection, diversifies ecological function and promotes social inclusion. It has since brought civilians back to the area with greater contact with nature, open space and prime waterfront views. The riparian wetland, storm water retention system, grasslands with beautifully contrasting sculptural landforms, and the iconic elevated walkway have become the perfect place to overlooking Ningbo’s revitalized waterfront.
