The Envision Energy Headquarters was designed for a green energy research and development firm focused on the design and production of wind turbines. The 3,000-square-meter building sits adjacent to the company’s rotor assembly facility and serves a dual purpose: providing public exhibition and educational spaces to showcase the benefits of renewable energy, while also creating a collaborative and supportive workplace for employees.
The headquarters includes dining facilities, a sports and fitness center, and an employee “spirit lounge” designed to encourage collaboration and rejuvenation among the company’s designers.
Wind energy and its fluid movement inspired the building’s form, exterior skin and interior atrium. A cantilever shelters the main entrance on the north side, while creating a roof terrace with expansive views on the south.
The metallic facade reinforces the concept of movement, flowing around a polished aluminum, airfoil-shaped volume, referred to as the “eye,” at the heart of the building. This distinctive element houses the company’s central monitoring and mission control room for its wind turbine systems.
