AECOM announced today that Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Officer Gregory Sauter will serve as president-elect of Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) for 2013.

As president-elect, Sauter will act as an advisor to the group’s president and other officers on its board of directors, as well as serve as chair for the board’s governance committee.  He will then serve as EWB-USA president during 2014 and past president in 2015.

“I am honored to assume these responsibilities for an organization that so closely mirrors AECOM’s purpose and core values,” said Sauter.  “At AECOM, our employees have an incredible opportunity to plan, design, construct and manage projects from inception through completion, while advancing human progress around the globe.  I look forward to continuing to support EWB-USA as it works to improve quality of life around the world.”

Sauter’s appointment is the latest milestone in AECOM’s corporate citizenship efforts with strategically aligned charitable and philanthropic organizations worldwide.

“In addition to the significant positive impact that Engineers Without Borders makes in communities around the world, it also fosters a spirit of engagement within companies who support EWB,” said Jane Chmielinski, AECOM chief operating officer.  “We are proud of Greg for being selected for this honor and we offer our continued support of EWB.”

Beyond its ongoing work with Engineers Without Borders in numerous countries, AECOM fosters relationships with groups such as Water for People, the Red Cross and the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust that include volunteer activities and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations annually.
