Located on the Corniche near the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and designed by the Australian architectural firm, DBI Design, the Etihad Towers is a prestigious 460,000-square-meter mixed-use development that includes five towers ranging from 55 to 77 floors, including the award-winning Jumeirah at Etihad Towers hotel.

AECOM’s design and construction supervision team was first involved in the project in July 2006. The team undertook a detailed study into the additional wind modeling and in-situ measurements with accelerometers to confirm that no tuned mass dampers — recommended by competitors — would be required. This saved the client the cost and future maintenance of the dampers while also providing further leasable space for penthouse apartments.

Along with the international five-star hotel, Etihad Towers features an array of amenities that includes a boutique shopping mall, premium office tower, a hypermarket and quality residential apartments. All hotel rooms, apartments and office floors will have stunning sea views, overlooking the Abu Dhabi coastline. One of the most prestigious developments in Abu Dhabi and a central part of the Capital’s skyline, AECOM played a prominent role in bringing this vision to reality.
