Under Rosenwax the Buildings & Places practice will sharpen its focus on complex mega-projects in the region

SYDNEY (September 13, 2018) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that its Australia and New Zealand executive team has appointed James Rosenwax to lead and transform its Buildings & Places (B&P) practice. Mr. Rosenwax has been promoted after three successful years driving growth of the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Cities practice. As the new B&P managing director, Mr. Rosenwax will be responsible for the development and execution of the practice’s strategic focus on complex mega projects.

“Having led the Australia and New Zealand design and planning business and then successfully launching the Cities offering, James is adept at bringing the best of AECOM globally to the communities we serve locally,” said AECOM’s Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive Todd Battley. “He has proven himself to be a successful leader with a true commitment to client service, excellence and collaboration. Along with the rest of the leadership group we are delighted that someone with his drive, creativity and clear sense of purpose is taking on this important leadership role.”

Mr. Rosenwax will be implementing a number of strategic changes that will ensure B&P has the right blend of people, skills and strategy to drive sustainable growth and provide value to AECOM’s clients.

“The market for integrated buildings and urban development services has changed and we need to do the same,” said Mr. Rosenwax. “We are committed to creating a unique offering that combines our deep understanding of the built environment with our transport infrastructure design capability to provide a genuine differentiator in the marketplace. I believe this approach, coupled with our focus on using technology to transform the value we bring to our clients, is a formidable force.”

Since 2016, Mr. Rosenwax has overseen the development of Cities teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, which will all continue to drive AECOM’s ANZ Cities strategy and thought leadership program. Based in Sydney, Mr. Rosenwax is an industry-recognised urbanist with over 20 years’ experience. He began his professional career at international landscape architecture and urbanism firm, EDAW, which was acquired by AECOM in 2005.
