With an estimated USD 14.7 billion capital cost, the Al Raha Beach development is one of the most prestigious projects in Abu Dhabi. Comprising eight kilometers of waterfront residential housing spread over seven hectares; the development is currently home to 120,000 people. Consisting of mixed residential, retail, recreational and commercial-use properties, the development includes marinas and canals inspired by Abu Dhabi’s sea-faring culture. Work on the project commenced in 2005.
AECOM was responsible for the design and site supervision of all civil infrastructures including:

- Transport planning
- Public transportation
- Light Rail, Water Transport and Bus Network
AECOM provided fully integrated infrastructure services for the Al Raha Beach project across a broad range of markets including transportation, energy, water, and landscape design, marine and environmental services. During our 10-year involvement on the project, members from our global team were involved to meet project needs.
In 2015, the project won the MEED National Transport Project of the Year.
