AECOM Hunt’s work on the Phoenix Convention Center was a two-phase 2,000,000 square-foot expansion and renovation done in two phases. Phase one included a 660,000 square-foot, four-level terrace building with a below grade parking garage. Phase two included the demolition of the existing north building and construction of a 1,400,000 square-foot, four-level building and parking structure with loading docks.
Additional components included a pedestrian bridge, light rail station and bringing existing streets to grade level to allow for a contiguous, underground exhibit hall between the two phases as well as a 50,000 square-foot renovation of existing meeting rooms and upgrade of current mechanical and electrical systems.
