AECOM at the Adaptation Canada National Symposium 2016
AECOM is proud to be a Gold sponsor of the Adaptation Canada National Symposium 2016, a major climate change and resilience conference that takes place from April 12 to April 14 at Shaw Centre, 55 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Canada.
The symposium includes three days of plenary and keynote addresses, and concurrent session presentations on topics including adaptation within different local and provincial governments, as well as industry sectors such as mining, forestry, energy, transportation and insurance.
This event brings together industry, government, non-government, academia and practitioners to learn about progress, innovations and current practices in climate change impacts and adaptation. It also highlights the multitude of research, information and tools that have been developed in recent years to understand and manage climate risks.
A changing climate poses a major threat to our communities and infrastructure: flooding, tornados, ice storms and extreme heat events have increased in frequency and severity in recent years, and the trend is projected to continue. AECOM is committed to addressing these issues and works closely with clients and partners from public and private sectors to help them understand these changes, explore options and develop strategies, plans and actions to enhance the resilience of their assets, operations, supply chains and systems in the face of a changing climate.
Several AECOM representatives from Canada and the United States will be attending the symposium, and will be hosting panel discussions and delivering technical presentations on various topics, as follows:
