AECOM announced today that it has been selected to update the Jeddah Strategic Plan and prepare sub-regional, structural and local plans for the area.
The Jeddah Municipality, representing the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs of Saudi Arabia, awarded AECOM the US$10-million contract for multiple levels of city-planning services that will reshape Jeddah for decades to come.
For this project, AECOM’s services will include strategic planning and governance, spatial and urban planning and design, socio-economic and tourism, landscape and environmental sustainability, and infrastructure, as well as engaging stakeholders and communities in various workshops.
“We are delighted to play such a vital role in planning and improving the city of Jeddah,” said AECOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio. “AECOM has been heavily involved in the area’s transformation, as we’ve been successfully providing project management services for a city-wide stormwater, flood-control and wastewater-infrastructure improvement program since 2011.”
AECOM’s latest contract begins immediately and is expected to last 30 months. It will cover the entire governorate, including the city’s urban boundary.
