AECOM’s Jill Bruning wins a Gold Award in Female Executive of the Year category at the 2015 Stevie Awards for Women in Business
LOS ANGELES (Jan. 6, 2016) — AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that Jill Bruning, executive vice president, recently won a Gold Award in the “Female Executive of the Year: Business Services — More Than 2,500 Employees — Business Services” category at the 12th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. As executive vice president and general manager, Bruning leads AECOM’s intelligence community and services business for its management services group. This business encompasses all major intelligence for clients and delivers the full life-cycle of AECOM’s design, build and operations capabilities in engineering, technical services, mission support and intelligence analysis.
Bruning has more than 30 years of executive experience supporting highly secure, complex IT enterprises for the intelligence community and Department of Defense. She received the Women In Technology Corporate Commercial Leadership Award for large businesses in 2011 and graduated from the inaugural Women In Technology’s Leadership Foundry program in 2012. Since 2013, she has served on numerous corporate boards in the areas of governance and finance, including being selected by the Intelligence and National Security Alliance to serve on its Board of Advisors in October 2015. Bruning also holds two patents on energy systems and is a published author on cryogenic technology.

As an engineer herself, with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, Bruning is passionate about mentoring and helping women become more Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) educated. A strong supporter of diversity and inclusion program efforts at AECOM, she is also actively involved in AECOM’s WomenExcel internal group.
