AECOM’s specialist aviation team in Australia and New Zealand has appointed Andrew Leishman as ANZ Aviation Leader, based in Sydney.
Previously ANZ Aviation Sector Leader at Jacobs, Mr Leishman has led large multidisciplinary building teams on both new build and refurbishment projects around the world, and has worked in the aviation sector for more than 15 years.
“I am delighted to have Andrew on board as our ANZ Aviation Leader, this will further enhance our team by providing an even stronger offering to airport owners, investors and aviation clients,” said Andrew Carruthers, AECOM Managing Director, Transportation – Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Leishman’s appointment reflects AECOM’s global aviation strategy, which includes a focus on airport expansion projects in Australia and New Zealand.
“Aviation is a growth sector with airports responding to strong growth by upgrading and expanding both airside and landside assets, particularly runways, passenger terminals and airfreight facilities. Andrew brings more than 30 years’ experience as a consulting structural engineer to AECOM and we are looking forward to offering this experience to our new and existing clients,” Mr Carruthers said.
“Andrew will be able to call both on his airport terminals, landside and airside civil, Defence, commercial, industrial and refurbishment experience and the AECOM and URS global aviation capabilities to provide a unique, high-value offering,” he said.
