An AECOM team has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

AECOM-SPP, a teaming arrangement with Solar Power Partners (SPP), will develop solar power installations at Navy and Marine Corps sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

Under the contract, which has one base year and four additional option years, AECOM will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for solar power systems, while SPP will finance and own the systems.

“The U.S. federal government views renewable energy as an important strategic goal to improve environmental performance, reduce energy costs and enhance energy security at multiple levels,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer.  “We are proud to be selected by the U.S. Navy for this important assignment.”

AECOM-SPP is one of five firms that won IDIQ contracts for this work.  The five contracts have a combined potential value of US$100 million.  These contractors may all compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the contract.
