AECOM reaffirms commitment to support ex-service personnel reentering civilian life through workplace support and opportunities
LONDON (June 15, 2022) — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today announced it has re-signed its Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. The Covenant is a commitment made by AECOM to be a forces friendly organisation through supporting ex-servicemen and women as they enter the workforce with training and mentoring opportunities. In addition, AECOM pledges to actively recruit ex-service personnel, to support reservists by providing generous leave to undertake duties and to support military charities.
“Service in the Armed Forces provides people with experiences and a skillset which are enormously valuable to businesses,” said AECOM Chief Executive for Europe and India Colin Wood. “Time and time again we see ex-forces personnel excel at AECOM through their leadership, decision making and team building skills they have developed during their time in service. By committing again to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant, we want to demonstrate to ex-service personnel that we recognise all they have to offer the corporate community, that they are an important part of our future talent pool and there is a rewarding career in industry for them.”
The pledges AECOM has made to the Armed Forces Community include:
- 15 days additional leave for AECOM Reservists
- Reimbursement of the costs for the Veterans Railcard to our veterans and reservists
- Providing serving personnel secondments through the MOD’s ‘Professional Placement programme’
Attending the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant re-signing was Lieutenant General Sir Christopher Tickell KBE and AECOM Chief Executive for Europe and India Colin Wood who spent 19 years in the Royal Air Force as an air traffic controller and aviation specialist, as well as other members of the AECOM Armed Forces Community.
