AECOM continues long-standing partnership with the MHA to deliver effective, efficient, innovative, and sustainable customer focused highway services
London (June 28, 2023) — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today announced that it has been appointed to the Midlands Highway Alliance Plus’ (MHA+) fourth Professional Services Partnership framework (PSP4). The MHA+ is an alliance of local highway authority members based in the East and West Midlands and other England regions, committed to working collaboratively to provide its member authorities effective, efficient, innovative, and sustainable highway services.
The framework, which will start at the end of August, will be awarded for an initial period of four years, extendable to eight, and has an estimated value of up to £960 million over the full contract period. AECOM is a supplier on Lot 1, Consultancy Services. Work undertaken as part of the framework will be multidisciplinary, including all stages of placemaking, active travel, highway schemes, and asset management. AECOM’s appointment to the framework continues a longstanding relationship with the MHA+, in place since the first iteration of the Alliance in 2007.

The overall aim of the framework is to establish a partnership to develop and share best practice highway design and engineering services, and to develop opportunities and schemes for carbon reduction and mitigation. A Carbon Steering Group has recently been established by the MHA+ to help keep member authorities informed about carbon reduction technologies and initiatives in the highways sector and provide a means of sharing best practice. The framework will also provide targeted social value benefits to the local communities, and provide a range of bespoke learning, training, and development opportunities for MHA+’s members, contractors, and its supply chain.
