AECOM appointed by UK Department of Energy Security and Net Zero to major new professional services framework 

New framework will support the UK’s transition to cleaner energy, with AECOM delivering advisory and technical services across a range of energy sectors 

LONDON (May 8, 2025) — AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, today announced its appointment by the UK Government Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to a major new Professional Services Framework. Under the £250M framework, AECOM will deliver strategic advisory services to support DESNZ’s major work programs transitioning the UK to cleaner energy sources.  

AECOM has been appointed to four Lots, the maximum number of Lots permitted to lead, and is supporting on a fifth. Each Lot covers a different sector, with AECOM leading on renewables and infrastructure, heat networks, industrial transformation and emerging technologies including net zero innovation, and supporting on electricity networks.

The two-year framework, which has an option to extend for a further two years, will support the delivery of DESNZ’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan that aims to transform the UK’s energy landscape and ensure at least 95 percent of Great Britain’s electricity comes from clean sources by 2030.
