AECOM and Rejlers win contract with the Swedish Transport Administration for the development of the North Bothnia Line

STOCKHOLM (Dec. 12, 2024) — AECOM, the global infrastructure leader, has partnered with Rejlers to win a strategically important contract with the Swedish Transport Administration for the development of the North Bothnia Line, one of Sweden’s most important infrastructure investments. The collaboration includes the development of railway plans and public roads within Piteå municipality north and south of Piteå urban area.

The North Bothnia Line is a 270-kilometre-long new railway between Umeå and Luleå. The project is expected to contribute to faster and more sustainable transports, strengthening the urban development and the competitiveness of businesses across Sweden.

AECOM and Rejlers will deliver line studies, railway plans with associated environmental impact assessments, and manage important permits and preparations for future construction.
