AECOM appointed on Severn Trent Water’s new Design Services Framework

9 June 2020 – LONDON – AECOM, the world’s premier infrastructure firm has been appointed on Severn Trent Water’s new Design Services Framework for AMP7 (Asset Management Plan), the latest investment period for the water industry in England.

With a place on Lot 1 of the four-year framework, AECOM will provide design services and construction support for major schemes above £4million. The work carried out throughout this period will help develop solutions to improve water and wastewater network infrastructure, as well as meet the required quality standards at treatment works across the region.

With significant expertise in digital delivery and BIM (Building Information Modelling) across multiple sectors, AECOM will deliver Severn Trent Water’s programme to BIM level 2. This will include integrating various digital approaches on projects to streamline collaboration across the supply chain.

AECOM will also assist Severn Trent Water to evaluate the whole-life cost of projects (TOTEX) and calculate the carbon footprint of design solutions. Not only will this support Severn Trent Water and the water industry’s commitment to becoming net zero by 2030 but it will also benefit the environment and provide customers with better value.

Duncan Gracie, AECOM’s Sector Lead for Water Utilities in the UK and Ireland, said: “We look forward to working closely with Severn Trent Water, and other key stakeholders, to deliver high quality and innovative design solutions that meet the needs of Severn Trent Water, its customers and the regions’ communities.

“This new framework will also serve as a great opportunity to grow AECOM’s strong regional team whilst supporting investment in the local economy.”

Nick Foster, Severn Trent Senior Commercial Manager, commented: “We are very pleased to have AECOM as a key part of our AMP7 supply chain. We look forward to their support, in the delivery of our AMP7 capital programme that will ensure we continue to provide high quality water and wastewater services for customers across our region.”

The new design services framework is part of Severn Trent Water’s 2020-2025 investment programme. AECOM has previously worked with Severn Trent Water in AMP5 between 2010 and 2015, delivering both feasibility design and a major asset resilience study for the Elan Valley Aqueduct.
