Global infrastructure services firm AECOM has been appointed by Homes England to its four-year Multidisciplinary Framework 2019-2023. Under the new framework, AECOM will help Homes England deliver its strategic objective to accelerate the supply of quality new homes across England.
The new appointment builds on AECOM’s considerable history of supporting Homes England through the delivery of a broad range of multidisciplinary services, with the company supporting the development of several nationally significant projects. These include advising on the delivery of a 3,500 home urban extension at Northern Arc, Burgess Hill, to accelerate development, and delivering technical due diligence assessments at around 150 sites to help Homes England prepare land for housing development and disposal to market under the Surplus Public Sector Land Programme.
Richard Whitehead, Managing Director – Building + Places, UK & Ireland, AECOM, said: “With the UK facing a chronic housing shortage, work under this new framework will be vital to push forward much-needed sites for development and support the government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 homes a year by the mid-2020s. Drawing on our extensive experience of supporting accelerated housing delivery with supporting infrastructure, AECOM’s multidisciplinary teams from across the UK, together with our specialist sub-consultants, will work with Homes England to unlock land and create fantastic new places where people will want to live and work.”
