London – 30 June 2016: Global, integrated infrastructure services company AECOM has appointed Adrian Rees as Director – Asset Management, UK & Ireland. Adrian will be responsible for leading and growing the company’s asset management capabilities across the water sector.
In this newly created role, Adrian will work with different teams and disciplines from across the business to develop a fully integrated service offering for the water sector. A key focus will be bringing AECOM’s wider asset management experience to water clients, such as its pioneering ecosystem services work that is helping organisations assess the value of their natural capital. Adrian will also build on AECOM’s existing water asset management expertise, which includes a new consortium with software company SEAMS Ltd that is helping Yorkshire Water enhance its asset management processes.
Marc Barone, Managing Director – Water, UK & Ireland, AECOM, said: “With increasing pressure on the UK water sector, improving the performance of existing assets and making them more resilient is becoming a top priority. Adrian brings extensive experience in water asset management and regulation to AECOM, where he will help our clients develop long-term asset management processes that enable them to make more informed investment decisions.”
Commenting on his role, Adrian Rees said: “Many clients are looking for new ways of managing the services delivered by their assets. AECOM’s combination of investment planning and delivery capabilities is a key differentiator that will help optimise the whole life management of assets. I’m looking forward to providing our clients with integrated support across a diverse range of challenges through the 2019 Price Review and beyond.”
Adrian joins AECOM from ICS Consulting, where he delivered strategic consulting advice to clients on a range of matters, including their Price Review and AMP period preparatory work. With nearly 25 years’ experience in regulatory and asset management planning, Adrian previously held positions at Thames Water, Yorkshire Water and Ofwat. He joined AECOM earlier this month.
