AECOM cements its position as a leading UK graduate employer

After breaking into The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers List for the first time last year, AECOM has now risen to 70, placing us amongst the year’s highest climbers.

The list is based on interviews with thousands of graduates working across all sectors, and is seen as the definitive annual guide to Britain’s most sought-after and prestigious graduate employers. To compile the list, graduates are asked the open-ended question: “Which employer do you think offers the best opportunities for graduates?”

Commenting on the news, Patrick Flaherty, chief executive, UK & Ireland said, “With graduate recruitment at record levels within our business, this is a fantastic result. I am delighted that the feedback from graduates has been so strong. It’s a reflection of the commitment shown by our early careers recruitment and development teams who should all be very pleased and proud of this achievement.”

The graduate recruitment team has worked hard to raise AECOM’s profile as a graduate employer and to streamline the application process, making it easier to find and apply for jobs within our business.

Adam Phillips, senior recruitment lead, Early Careers, UK&I, said: “This is the major rankings that graduates take notice of on campus when researching potential employers of choice, so it’s clear evidence that not only are we reaching more students with our marketing initiatives, but most importantly more of these students are confirming they want to come and work for AECOM.”

Adam Rawlings Smith, head, talent acquisition, Europe and Africa, added: “The team has drawn on a range of methods to engage with the best and the brightest, from social media to online psychometric assessments. They have also introduced video interviews based around AECOM’s values, a first for our industry, and further developed the aspirational ‘Where do you see yourself?’ campaign. The results have led to a 35% increase in applications and AECOM’s highest ever ranking in not only The Times Top 100, but also Target Jobs Sector rankings.”
