LONDON (April 20, 2022) — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today announced it has renewed its place on the Southern Coastal Group (SCG) and SCOPAC Coastal, Flood and Infrastructure Professional Services Framework. It has retained its place in the top tier of the multidisciplinary framework for use by public bodies across England.
AECOM has been working with Coastal Partners since 2012 when the partnership of four councils formed to lead on coastal issues along the South of England coastline. The framework has been established by Portsmouth City Council on behalf of the SCG and SCOPAC and will be managed on behalf of the group by Coastal Partners. The framework is now accessed by many local authorities along the South Coast. This is AECOM’s third time successfully securing a place on the framework.
“New and upgraded coastal infrastructure can help build an area’s resilience and attract funding,” said AECOM Framework Director Tara-Leigh McVey. “It also often provides the chance to leave our coastline in a better way than we found it, working with communities to add new features that bring these important spaces into their day-to-day life, benefitting them now and in years to come.”
The work undertaken by AECOM with our clients helps communities and businesses understand, maintain and design sustainable coastal environments, helping to protect millions of people from the threats of tidal flooding and coastal erosion. Notable projects previously delivered by AECOM for SCG include the Langstone FCERM Scheme (strategy and design), West Wight and Hayling Island Coastal Strategies.
