AECOM is currently celebrating no less than four finalist positions in the prestigious 2016 Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence.
The RTPI represents 23,000 planning professionals worldwide and promotes spatial planning, shapes policy and raises professional standards. The Awards for Planning Excellence have been run by the RTPI for over 30 years to recognise planning excellence. They celebrate the contribution that planners and planning make to society, highlighting exceptional examples and inspiring others to achieve the same high standards.
Andrew Jones, Practice Leader Design Planning + Economics, AECOM said: “AECOM is proud to be a headline sponsor of this year’s RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence. The finalists, which we are delighted to be a part of, are a diverse mixture of outstanding examples of planning; demonstrating the impact the profession has on quality and delivery in the built environment.”
Shortlisting as a finalist offers recognition at a national level for contribution to the planning sector across a range of categories. In the 2016 awards, AECOM is delighted to have projects shortlisted across four individual categories:
- Excellence in Plan Making Practice – Places for Business and Industry Charrette, North Lanarkshire, Scotland
- Excellence in Planning to Deliver Housing – North West Cambridge Development, Cambridge, England
- Excellence in Planning for Community and Well-being – Supporting Communities in Neighbourhood Planning, England
- Excellence in Planning to Create Economically Successful Places – Aberdeen City Masterplan project, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 5th May, held at Milton Court at The Barbican.
