A New Campus Hub. The new LEED-Gold Health Technology Center at Lakeland Community College (LCC) is a state-of-the-art workforce training facility designed to meet regional needs in the healthcare professions.

The original 52,000 square foot building was completely transformed with the addition of a three-story atrium which serves as a new campus hub. The 80,000 square foot addition features laboratories, classrooms and social spaces to create an integrated and interactive learning environment.

The Hive
A unique feature at the Health Technologies building is an advanced laboratory, simulation and innovation space known as the Hive. Separated by a tiered seating area, the Hive occupies two major areas of the building. The main programmatic space has open meeting rooms, a full wood shop, and electronics makerspace. Hive also includes reconfigurable classrooms, social areas and a pop-up shop area for items created in the makerspace. The completed project weaves new and existing structures to create a new iconic building entry to the campus.
