AECOM provided plans, specifications, and estimate for civil and bridge design of this $125 million project. The new 970-foot-long, three-span, cast-in-place segmented concrete box girder bridge is situated in rugged terrain immediately downstream from Folsom Dam and over the American River.
The crossing provides a critical new major crossing for vehicles and improved bicycle circulation in the region by incorporating Class I and II trails. Operating under an accelerated schedule, the design was completed in 14 months after an alignment alternative was selected, with construction completed 2 years after award of bids.
